Steeple Morden is about 15 miles SW of Cambridge. Arrington is about 6 miles closer to Cambridge. Arrington is about 5 miles from Ashwell

The only Joseph Pearce in LDS that remotely fits is in Croydon in 1600, parents John and Margerye  This Croydon is about three miles N of Abingdon Piggots and the Mordens (LR)
