A parent search in the IGI on John and Sarah gives five children.
There is a marriage to Sarah Hassal on 10 July 1748 in Whitchurch Shropshire. The fit is excellent, except it is a long way from London/Essex
If this is our John Manning, there is a christening that fits in Whitchurch on 22 May 1720. parents John and Jane Manning
Unable to find a christening for Sarah.
Wait for more evidence on the next generation up

Great Saxham is one hundred miles north of Romford. Not as far as Whitchurch, but still a very long way. I think we have to leave John and Sarah an open question
