Edwin Farr
Louisa Briant

The following material is from posters prepared by Glenis Crocker for a Martin and Farr reunion she organised in Ballarat

Edwin, like his father, became a carpenter. His wife Louisa's family owned a bakery business in Ballarat. Edwin and his family moved from Ballarat to Northcote in Melbourne some time between 1885 and 1888, when Les was born. They lived in Charles St, and Edwin was a carpenter and staircase maker. His workbench from his home is still kept by the person who bought his house after his death, and some tools are still in the family.
When Edwin died in 1943 he left an estate of  £680 real estate and £119 cash. 52 Dearebin St went to Louisa for life, then proceeds to surviving daughters.
