In the name of God Amen the
thirtieth day of July 1668 According to the Computation of the
Church of England, I, Edward Bowhay of the p'ish of Stoake
Climsland in the Countie of Cornwall, Yeoman, being sicke of
body but pficte [?perfect] of remembrance thanks be to God doe
[?nowe] make and ordaine this my last will and testament in
manner and forme Following.. Imprimis I bequeath my soule into
the hands of Almighty God, my maker and redeemer and my body to
the ground from whence it came.
Item I give unto wards the repaire of the Church three shillings
and fower pence
Item I give unto the poor of this p'ish three shillings and
fower pence
Item I give unto my Sonn Edward Bowhay the tabel boards and the
cubbord that is in the hall and all the plowstuf the pounds and
moore ston[e] troughes after the Decease of his mother:
Item I give unto my sonn Tristram Bowhay the second best brasse
crocke sixe platter Dishes and sixe pogger Dishes of pewter and
the seconde best brasse panns after the Decease of his mother:
Item I give unto my Daughter Mary Bowhay the Som: of Forttie
pounds to be payde at the end of one yeare after my Decease:
Item I give unto my Daughter Grace Bowhay the sum of Forttie
pounds to be payde at the end of two yeares after my Decease:
Item I give unto my Daughter Joan Bowhay the sum of forttie
pounds to be payde at the end of three yeares after my Decease:
Item I give unto my grandchild Joan Bowhay the sum of Forttie
shillings to be payde at the end of fower yeares after my
Decease:
Item I give unto my grandchild Edward Bowhay my first best
brasse pann after the Decease of Joan my wife:
Item I give unto my grandchild Mary Bowhay one yew and lamb
Immidiately after my Decease
and all the rest of my goods not given nor bequeath I give and
bequeath unto my wife Joan Bowhay and how I make my hole
and sole executrix of this my Last will and testament In
wittness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day
and yeare first above written
