This is the last Will Testament of me Charles Richard Prickett the
elder of Saint Ann’s Lane in the Parish of Saint John Zachary in the
City of London Cabinet Maker made in manner following (that is to
say) first I will order and direct that all my just debts funeral
expenses and the charges of proving and attending the execution of
of this my will be punctually paid and discharged as soon as
conveniently may be after my decease I give and bequeath unto
my son Charles Richard Prickett the younger of Aldersgate Street in
the city of London Cabinet maker his executors and administrators
all and every the leaseholds messuages or tenements and premises of
which I shall be possessed interested in or entitled unto at the
time of my decease and all and every the leases papers and writings
relating thereto or in any wise concerning(?) the same and all and
every the term and terms of xxxxx (Xiars?) Estate and interest which
at the time of my decease I may have in such leasehold
messuages or tenements and premises respectively and all and every
my stock utensils and implements in trade household furniture plate
linen china boots (books?) wearing apparel and all the my personal
estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or
kind soever Upon the trusts and to and for the ends intents and
purposes hereinafter mentioned expressed declared and contained of
and concerning the same (that is to say) upon trust that the said
Charles Richard Prickett the younger his executors or assigns shall
and do when and in such manner as he or they shall deem it proper
beneficial and expedient sell and dispose of all my said leasehold
messuages or tenements and premises and all my term or terms of
xxxx(Xxiars?) Estate and Interest of and in the same respectively
and in the xxxxtence and until the same shall be sold and disposed
of let set and (xxxise?) my said leasehold messuages or tenements
and premises at and for the best and most improved yearly rent or
rents that can be obtained or gotten for the same and shall and do
sell dispose of and convert into money all my said stock utensils
and implements in trade household furniture plate linen china boots
/ books wearing apparel and all other my said personal estate and
effects as aforesaid (except such Government stocks funds or
securities which I may be possessed of at the time of my decease)
and also collect get in and receive all and every the debts and sum
and sums of money due owing and payable to me from any person or
persons whomsoever and lay out and invest the monies to arise and be
provided from all and every the aforesaid sale or sales and the
receipt of such debts or sums of money as aforesaid in the purchase
of some or one of the government stocks funds or securities of this
kingdom in his or their own name or names and that he the said
Charles Richard Prickett the younger his executors or administrators
shall xxxx and be possessed of the governement stocks funds or
securities so to be purchased by him or them as aforesaid and of the
government stocks funds or securities of which I may be possessed at
the time of my decease and also of the rent or rents of my said
leasehold messuages tenements and premises Upon the trusts and to
and for the ends intents and purposes and subject and under the
powers provisos conditions and declarations hereinafter mentioned
expressed and declared of and xxxxxxxxing the same (that is to say)
Upon trust that he the said charles Richard Prickett the younger his
executors or administrators do and shall from time to time when and
as they shall receive the same pay the interest dividends or
proceeds of the said several stocks funds or securities and also the
rent or rents of my said leasehold messuages or tenements and
premises unto my dear wife Mary Prickett or her assigns for and
during the term of her natural life to and for her and their own use
and benefit and after the decease of my said wife shall and do
retain unto himself or themselves xxxxxx in equal fourth parts or
shares xxxx xxxxx into four equal parts to be divided of all the
said several stocks funds or securities to and for his or their own
use and benefit and (subject to the provisos hereinafter contained
pay assign and transfer the share and remaining one equal fourth
part thereof unto my son Robert Thomas Prickett to and for his own
use and benefit at the terms and in the manner following (that is to
say) one fourth part of such other and remaining one equal fourth
part of all the said several stocks funds or securities at the end
or expiration of twelve calendar months to be computed from the day
of the decease of my said dear wife one fourth part thereof at the
end and expiration of twelve calendar months next following such
twelve calendar months as aforesaid one other fourth part thereof at
the ned of and expiration of thirty six calendar months from the day
of the decease of my said dear wife and the remaining fourth part
thereof at the end and expiration of twelve calendar months next
following such thirty six calendar months as aforesaid And my
will and intention is and I hereby order and direct that if my said
leasehold messuages or tenements and premises or any part thereof
shall not have been sold or disposed of in the lifetime of my said
wife then immediately after her decease the same or such part or
part thereof as shall remain unsold shall be sold and disposed of
and that the monies arising from the saler or sales thereof shall be
retained paid and applied by him the said Charles Richard Prickett
the younger his executors or administrators in such shares and
proportions to such person or persons at such times and in such
manner as are and is hereinbefore mentioned expressed and contained
of and concerning the said interst stock funds and securities in the
event of the decease of my said dear wife provided always and it is
my will and intention that in case the said Robert Thomas Prickett
shall happen to depart this life before the whole of this said one
fourth part or share of and in such several stocks funds or
securities and monies as aforesaid shall become due and payable
according to the terms hereinbefore specified for payment thereof
that then the said Charles Richard Prickett the Younger his
executors or Admors shall at the end and expiration of six calendar
months from the time of the decease of the said Robert Thomas
Prickett pay unto his executors or administrators such instalments
thereof as shall at his decease remain unpaid any thing hereinbefore
contained to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding
provided further and it is also my will and intention that in case
the said Robert Thomas Prickett shall in any manner or for any
purpose or consideration or to any person or persons whomsoever sell
assign make over dispose of or depart with all or any part of his
said one equal fourth part or share of the said several stocks funds
or securities and monies as aforesaid or borrow or take up at
interest any sum or sums of money or make any security thereon then
such one equal fourth part xxxx or the installments thereof
remaining unpaid shall not be paid or payable to him the said Robert
Thomas Prickett and that then also and in such case the said one
equal fourth part or share or such installments thereof as aforesaid
shall be retained and applied by the said Charles Richard Prickett
the younger his executors or administrators to and for his or their
own proper use and benefit And I hereby nominate constitute and
appoint the said Charles Richard Prickett the younger executor of
this my last will and testament And my will is that the
said Charles Richard Prickett the younger his executors and
administrators shall and may at all times in the first place
reimburse and indemnify himself and themselves out of the said trust
monies and premises all such costs charges damages and expenditures
as he or they shall or may at any time or times expend lay out and
be put unto for or by reason or means of all any or either of the
trusts hereby in him and them reposed and that he or they shall not
be answerable or accountable for any loss which may happen to any of
the said trust monies and premises (unless such loss happen through
his or their willful neglect or default) nor for more monies than
shall eventually come to his or their hands or possession nor for
any loss which shall or may happen by means of depositing any of the
said trust and monies in the hands keeping or custody of any private
or common banker And I hereby revoke and make void all former and
other will and wills codicil and codicils by me at any time
heretofore made and declare this to be my only last will and
testament In witness whereof I the said Charles Richard Prickett the
Elder the testator have to this my last will and testament contained
in this and the two prededing sheets of this my will annexed hereto
set my hand and seal that is to say my hand at the bottom of each
and every the two preceding sheets of this my will annexed
hereto and my hand and seal to this third and last sheet
thereof this fifteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and three
Chas Richard Prickett signed sealed published and declared by
the above named Charles Richard Prickett the Elder the Testator as
and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his
presence at his request and in the presence of each other of us have

This Will of charles Richard Prickett the Elder late of Saint Ann’s
Lane in the parish of Saint John Zachary in the City of London
deceased was proved at London the second day of July in the Year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four before the worshipful
Samuel Pearce Parson doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of
Charles Richard Prickett the son of the said deceased the sole
executor to whom administration was granted having been first sworn
duly to administer.
