In 1729 James received 6d for supplying ale when the chapel bell was taken down and hung up again. Then in 1730 he was paid 3s/8d for ale when the bell was mended.
In 1736 James was paid 2d for mending the bell tongue. In 1747 he made a new set of stocks. In 1749 he made screw bolts for bridges and "drank ale"!
In 1752 James received 5s/6d poor relief from the Parish.
