In Steeple Langford, Solomon Dredge (30) Farmer and Elizabeth Dredge (65)
This looks like them, so John is probably dead in 1841. Steeple Langford is about two or three miles from South Newton

The above John Dredge looks like our man. There is another John Dredge born Longbridge Deverill, Wiltshire in 1760 if you want to back a longshot.
Longbridge Deverill is about 12 miles W of  South Newton.
